Prevention is better than cure…

Bee PollenChristmas is nearly here and I’m very aware that there’s lots of pre-Christmas bugs going around.  Three things I have in my cupboard to stave off any lurgies are: Propolis tablets and throat spray, Pollen tablets and Echinacea.

Here’s my top tips for keeping healthy this winter and, with all this flying around and Christmas preparation, you’ll want to make sure you’ve got all the energy you need!

There’s also a great Jason Vale smoothie recipe with three Oranges, Ginger and a Banana, which would give you a massive boost of Vitamin C!

  1. The Bee Propolis is antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal and anti-inflammatory – often known as nature’s antibiotic, and is made by bees to use as a coating for building their hives. Propolis can be taken with a preventative daily dose and, if it’s too late and you’ve already got the bug, you can just increase the dosage.
  2. Bees Pollen can be bought either in tablet form or as granules (pictured) to sprinkle on food or put in your smoothies. Pollen is amazing for many things and particularly energy.  So if you are either fighting off a cold or recovering from one, Pollen is a great supplement to take, as it contains a massive amount of nutrients.  I personally use the Propolis and Pollen tablets from Forever Living Products or buy the Bee Health brand online.
  3. Echinacea can be brought as tablets or liquid. I like the A.Vogel range. As with the Propolis, Echinacea can be used as a preventative measure. So, if you’re seeing a lot of bugs going around, it might be worth investing in some now.  I have to be honest and say that the taste of the Propolis and Echinacea is not great, but they are brilliant products!

And of course the old favourite of mine to help keep your body in tip top condition is water!  And lots of it!
